Context: Our client – a small, privately held accounting practice based in East London. The business offers the full range of services to its customers from company formation, booking-keeping, accounts preparation, audit, tax and payroll.
Challenges: The accounting practice faced a number of challenges common across this type of business sector. Their journey towards becoming digital had stalled or was incomplete. The business was, in the most part, still paper-based with inefficient processes and duplication of effort.
Solution and benefit: First, we helped our client to move away from a physical site server to a cloud-based solution and then migrated towards modern cloud applications. These applications are digital solutions for areas like payroll and tax preparation. We implemented a single sign-on feature providing the right level of access to the appropriate roles. Each of the processes for a particular business activity are linked and aligned to the use of the relevant software application. The overall benefit is clear. Cloud and digital solutions mean less paper, better controls and management of information, and more efficient processes and ways of working.
Context: Our client – a care group catering for adults with special educational needs based in Essex. The business offers day services, supported living, residential care and community support across a number of different sites delivered by care professionals.
Challenges: The client, along with the broader sector, is increasingly moving towards adopting a new wave of technology solutions to support business management and delivery of front-line care. The challenges included adopting an appropriate digital approach to manage employees and funders; how to plan and roster shifts efficiently; to build a capability to develop and monitor care plans; and strengthen compliance monitoring and reporting.
Solution and benefit: We helped our client to move away from a physical site server to a cloud-based solution. The cloud-based application implemented enabled personnel rosters to be comprehensively managed in one place, pulling through into their finance and payroll systems; helping the business manage more efficiently. The underlying benefit is greater detail with care planning and thus driving a higher quality in the delivery of care.
